Job Requirements
- Must successfully pass E-Verify employment verification check
- Ability to sustain considerable walking, standing, bending, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds
- Must have salary sent to financial institution by direct deposit
- Must walk or stand for prolonged periods
- Four-year college degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts or Business Administration with two years experience preferred or two-year college degree with four years experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Safe.Serve certification within one year
- Must pass a base background check and position of trust check from Office of Personnel Management
- Must speak, write, read and understand English
- Knowledge of DOD, Navy Food and Beverage and Rations in Kind policies
- Committed to drug-free federal workplace policies
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with Selective Service System
- Ability to prepare correspondence and spreadsheets
- May require a government-issued travel card for travel duties
- Must participate in direct deposit within first 30 days
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of DOD and Navy Food and Beverage policies and Rations in Kind program
- Skill in management principles and methodologies applied to small to medium food service facilities
- Experience managing pizza/deli operations, salad bars, beverages, and catering services
- Ability to assess patron size and mix, cost targets, and operational policies
- Ability to evaluate contracted services
- Minimum 3 years experience operating and managing food service facilities
- Certification through Safe.Serve manager program within one year of hire
- Proficient in English speaking, reading and writing
- Ability to prepare correspondence and reports
- Successful completion of background and position of trust checks
Job Duties
- Use initiative, judgment and originality in food and beverage planning, merchandising and control
- Develop and implement supplements, procedures and operating instructions for staff
- Promote effectiveness and efficiency through organizational and budgetary controls
- Establish and oversee training programs for proper food handling and job responsibilities
- Ensure timely completion and submission of personnel paperwork and adherence to personnel practices
- Collaborate with other departments, staff, advisory committees and vendors to ensure responsive food service programs
- Maintain facility and equipment in good working order and ensure safety, sanitation and security compliance
