Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education diploma
  • Minimum ten years restaurant or hotel food and beverage experience
  • Five years previous management experience preferred
  • Experience in luxury resort environment preferred
  • Ability to work varying shifts
  • Ability to maintain neat and professional appearance
  • Certification of tuberculosis clearance
  • Hawaii State Liquor Commission Management Card
  • Ability to comply with hotel safety and grooming standards
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand motions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to use computer systems and hospitality software
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education diploma required
  • College degree in Travel Industry Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum ten years of restaurant or hotel food and beverage experience
  • Five years of management experience preferred
  • Experience in first-class medium to large resorts preferred
  • Experience in creating, building, and running beverage programs
  • Certification of tuberculosis clearance required
  • Hawaii State Liquor Commission Management Card required
  • CPR and first aid certification preferred
  • Sommelier certification or similar preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality industry laws and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Fidelio, and Group Wise
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and prioritize work
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

Job Duties

  • Oversee all food and beverage operations including restaurants, in-room dining, and banquet services
  • Ensure high standards of service, quality, and profitability
  • Manage and coordinate staffing, scheduling, payroll, and timekeeping in compliance with union contracts and hotel policies
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and supervise line staff including hosts, waiters, bartenders, and banquet servers
  • Support banquet planning and execution, ensuring client expectations are met
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments for seamless operations
  • Analyze financial data, implement marketing plans, manage inventory and supply orders
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally
  • Enforce departmental and hotel policies, including disciplinary actions
  • Lead by example with visible presence during peak times and special events
