Job Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience in food and beverage management
  • Experience in managing employees in a unionized environment
  • Strong attention to detail relating to service quality
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Knowledge of payroll and labor cost management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with safety and emergency procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Three years food and beverage management experience in a luxury world-class hotel
  • Three years technical food and beverage experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous employee management experience in a Local 6 union environment
  • Strong quality detailed service ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for staff and guest relations
  • Team-minded approach to working with colleagues
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Capability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Job Duties

  • Employee training, development, and review
  • Delegation of work safety and emergency procedures
  • Enforcement of job descriptions
  • Job performance reviews
  • Staff morale management
  • Department scheduling
  • Organization of documented employee files
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Complete payroll on a daily basis
  • Managing department costs within budgetary goals including food, beverage, and labor costs
