Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe certified
  • minimum six months stewarding or comparable experience
  • able to obtain and maintain valid Catawba Gaming License
  • at least twenty-one years of age
  • excellent customer service skills
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • good verbal and written communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe certified (Food Handler's Certification)
  • minimum six months stewarding or comparable experience including Culinary Training Academy certification
  • must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License
  • must be at least twenty-one years of age
  • excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • working knowledge of basic kitchen equipment
  • knowledgeable of safety policies, chemical usage, and handling
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment including exposure to secondhand smoke
  • flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to work an alternate schedule as needed

Job Duties

  • Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines
  • adhere to policies, rules, and procedures
  • gather pots and pans to wash in a three compartment sink or pot machine
  • maintain chemical detergents in all applicable equipment such as dish washers and pot washers
  • wash baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables, and cutting boards
  • sweep and mop all floors and wash all floor mats
  • clean kitchen equipment including dish machines, ice machines, pot machines, prep tables, hot boxes, and refrigerators
  • sort and properly handle all dishware, silverware, and glassware
  • clean stove, ovens, hoods, and stainless-steel kitchen equipment
  • separate and remove trash and garbage including biohazard clean up
  • polish kitchenware and glass as needed
  • clean food and beverage service carts and racks
  • maintain fryer by filtering and changing oil
  • set up dishware, glass, and silver for food service
  • communicate needed supplies to management
  • assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and safe working environment
  • complete special projects as requested by management
  • ensure products follow first-in, first-out philosophy
  • comply with health and safety regulations
  • work as a team assisting guests and employees
  • work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • perform other duties as assigned
