Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in senior living or healthcare food service
  • Experience managing kitchen staff and food production
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements for seniors
  • Ability to work varied hours including weekends
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Experience in healthcare or senior living culinary operations
  • Proven leadership skills in managing kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong menu planning and food preparation skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and inventories

Job Duties

  • Supervises a food services program that meets and exceeds minimum senior living community standards
  • Prepares menus, food products and serves quality meals in all dining rooms and venues
  • Provides meals promptly and professionally
  • Ensures food items are served at proper temperatures and tastefully garnished
  • Provides food production for independent, assisted and memory care housing segments
  • Provides food production for in-house and external catering services
  • Ensures completion of food and supply inventories
  • Plans and promotes a dietary food services program with diverse menu options
  • Follows prime food vendor regulations
  • Coordinates menu planning with the Executive Director and Food and Beverage Director
  • Maintains proper records including meal cost summaries
  • Adheres to budget guidelines
  • Purchases food, kitchen supplies, and equipment using competitive methods
  • Manages food production and sanitation processes within expense guidelines
  • Prepares meals using provided recipes
  • Uses kitchen equipment safely
  • Checks serving lines before meals
