Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to four years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Knowledge of cash handling policies and safety standards
  • Ability to manage budgets and prepare cost estimates
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands
  • Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to four years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports
  • Strong communication skills in person, telephone, and in writing
  • Ability to develop and implement training programs
  • Understanding of accounting concepts including payroll, accounts payable and receivable
  • Ability to plan, organize and lead teams effectively
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations
  • Capability to handle crisis situations calmly

Job Duties

  • Estimate food and beverage costs and requisition or purchase supplies
  • Confer with food preparation and other personnel to plan menus and related activities
  • Prepare cost estimates for menus, banquets, buffets and salad bars
  • Perform product margin analysis to ensure products meet profit goals
  • Maintain and train employees on proper cash handling policies
  • Ensure schedules are fair and within budget guidelines
  • Inspect food and food preparation to maintain quality and sanitation
  • Investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints
  • Communicate maintenance and housekeeping needs
  • Supervise inventory procedures for food, liquor, linen, china and glassware
  • Project future supply needs and place orders according to purchasing procedures
  • Review financial transactions and monitor budget
  • Develop and hold training sessions on company policies
  • Participate in marketing program creation for Food & Beverage
  • Manage subordinate supervisors and oversee restaurant, kitchen, bar, and banquet operations
