Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • recent experience in food service point of sale cash handling preferred
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • no felony, theft or stealing convictions
  • must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
  • must be able to pass a background investigation
  • must obtain and maintain a gaming license
  • must have a high energy and motivated personality
  • knowledge of dining and food maintenance operations and customer service
  • knowledge of Title 4 Arizona liquor law regarding alcohol service and enforcement
  • knowledge of cash handling
  • knowledge of restaurant menu or food items offered, bar items, liquors, and pricing
  • knowledge of POS system
  • knowledge of internal controls and commitment to consistent adherence
  • ability to obtain a Food Handlers card
  • ability to obtain TIPS certification
  • ability to successfully pass cash handling training
  • ability to successfully pass departmental testing for position
  • ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English
  • ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service
  • ability to follow instructions and work in a stressful and busy environment

  • knowledge of Arizona Title 4 liquor law and ability to enforce said law assertively
  • knowledge of cash handling and POS systems
  • knowledge of restaurant menu, bar items, liquors and pricing
  • ability to obtain Food Handler's card and TIPS certification
  • ability to pass cash handling training and departmental testing
  • ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English
  • ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service
  • ability to follow instructions and work in a stressful and busy environment

Job Duties

  • Apply knowledge of the laws and regulations governing food and beverage
  • ensure that tribal, city, state and federal health and food safety codes are upheld
  • maintain a clean, organized and sanitized work area while following all health and food safety regulations and codes
  • operate the cash register, daily records and properly tender all transactions
  • balance cash register receipts, guest checks and gratuity sheets for team member shifts
  • train new team members
  • maintain good communication with team members and uphold a positive and professional work environment
  • maintain proper attendance according to casino policy
  • complete side work as assigned
  • restock all work areas and sweep floors to ensure appearance standards
  • contribute to team efforts and accomplish related results
  • assist in daily restaurant operation in an efficient, cost-effective and labor-effective manner
  • demonstrate courtesy, respect and sensitivity to guests
  • follow standard service techniques consistently
  • adhere to all Title 4 (Arizona liquor law) and TOGE internal controls
  • respond to guest requests with an outgoing personality
  • monitor guests for intoxication and follow proper procedures
  • be knowledgeable of all food and beverage outlets and casino promotions
  • work closely with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
  • display Desert Diamond Casino’s "On Brand" attitude towards team members and guests
  • reinforce the casino's Spirit of Service Standards
  • be flexible and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management
