Job Requirements
- Work authorization in the United States required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years food and beverage experience in a high-volume upscale resort required
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to handle customer complaints and requests professionally
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing needs
- Physical capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage budgets and control labor costs
Job Qualifications
- High school or college degree preferred
- 1-2 years food and beverage serving and/or related food and beverage experience in a high-volume upscale resort
- Thorough knowledge of service, cost control in food and beverage, labor controls, menu writing, maintenance, merchandising and accounting
- Ability to work inside and outside while servicing the Pool area
- Food and beverage knowledge
- Sincere willingness to provide service to residents, guests, and peers
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to function well under pressure
- High work ethic with a sense of responsibility for the role
- Knowledge of Baltimore and surrounding areas is desirable
- Preferred experience in a luxury hotel or resort
- Flexibility with schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Strong oral presentation skills
- Ability to carry and balance a tray
- Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions
- Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Requires reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees in the Hotel’s Pool operation while ensuring guest satisfaction
- Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Hotel’s Pool to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met
- Organize daily activities and planning for outlet operation
- Provide visible leadership in the operation, recognize employees, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts
- Describe and ensure quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as provide knowledge of wine and spirits in a Pool environment
- Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory and cash control
- Attend regular operational meetings to ensure coordination and cooperation between departments
- Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and recommend corrections and improvements as needed
