Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a customer service or foodservice role
- ability to stand for up to 6 hours
- clear communication skills
- strong basic math skills
- ability to use POS system
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language of guests
- must have exceptional grooming habits
- possess basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register or POS system
- previous experience in food service is advantageous
- excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Welcome guests as they enter
- greet guests upon arriving at the table
- inform guests of specials and menu changes
- make recommendations guests will enjoy
- answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services
- take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system
- prepare coffee and tea when line assistant is not available
- prepare toast when toast assistant is not available
- deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner
- perform side work at start and end of shifts
- maintain clean service areas including tables, seats, floors, and windows or walls
- monitor guests' dining experience and respond promptly to requests
- prepare final bill, process payments including credit card charges
- assist co-workers as needed
- pre-bus tables and assist with final cleaning
- thank guests and invite them to return
- fill in as needed for smooth restaurant operation as directed
