Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in wine service or as a sommelier
- Strong knowledge of wines and beverage programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to train and educate staff effectively
- Proficient with inventory management systems
- Must be able to handle physical aspects of the job including lifting and standing for long periods
- Knowledge of federal and state alcohol laws
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Monitor and improve departmental logistics efficiency including wine sales and cellar organization
- Assist in and conduct wine training for new and existing staff
- Monitor and spot check wine deliveries and cellar organization
- Provide friendly and efficient beverage service to guests
- Work collaboratively with the service team and assist as needed
- Offer expert wine recommendations and pairings to customers
- Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction
- Represent and present wine to guests following proper service protocols
- Support dining room staff with wine and service-related issues
- Build guest loyalty through personalized service and maintaining guest preference notes
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs proactively
- Recommend after dinner drinks and assist with cocktail service
- Maintain quality of wine and glassware for service
- Set up service areas and manage glassware requirements
- Train staff on proper wine presentation, decanting, and verbiage
- Conduct daily pre-shift trainings and monthly wine classes
- Communicate inventory changes and wine information to staff and corporate teams
- Maintain accurate beverage inventory and records
- Ensure menu accuracy and update pricing on all wine lists and POS
- Oversee receiving process including deliveries and invoices in receiver absence
- Coordinate liquor availability and cocktail orders
- Prepare for events and ensure proper wine station setup
- Suggest promotions and train staff on upselling
- Enforce alcohol laws and safety policies
- Continuously develop wine knowledge and industry trends
- Maintain safety and security of employees, guests, and assets
