Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous wine or beverage service experience
  • thorough knowledge of wines
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • ability to manage inventory and updates
  • commitment to customer satisfaction
  • capacity to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a similar sommelier or wine service role
  • strong knowledge of wines and wine regions
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • experience with inventory management systems
  • knowledge of beverage laws and regulations
  • ability to train and educate staff effectively

Job Duties

  • Monitor and improve departmental logistics efficiency
  • assist in and conduct wine training for staff
  • spot check wine deliveries and cellar organization
  • provide friendly, efficient service and build guest relationships
  • recommend wines and assist guests with pairings
  • oversee wine service throughout the restaurant
  • maintain and update wine inventory and menus
  • enforce legal compliance including TIPs and minimum drinking age
  • support beverage sales growth through promotions and upselling
  • conduct quality control on glassware and wine presentation
  • manage beverage inventory and delivery processes
  • assist in product purchasing and event preparation
  • maintain safety and security of employees and guests
  • continually update wine knowledge and train staff
