Job Requirements

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
ability to maintain supplies, equipment, and housekeeping areas with regular inspections
willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
ability to handle residents regardless of maturity level
openness to seek out and accept new methods and incorporate them
ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding cleaning compounds and procedures
ability to communicate effectively about emergency situations

Job Qualifications

No prior experience necessary
on-the-job training provided
a minimum of one year experience in housekeeping in a nursing home or related medical facility preferred
ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
tact in dealing with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and public
ability to maintain housekeeping supplies and perform inspections
willingness to work harmoniously with others
ability to accept new methods and practices
ability to communicate effectively in emergency situations

Job Duties

Ensure residents' rooms are neat, clean and free from odor
wet mop floors daily
shampoo and extract carpets as per schedule
buff floors
attend to spills immediately
empty trash liners and clean containers
clean bed and rails with disinfectant
clean all countertops, windowsills, bedside tables, furniture and over the bed
strip, seal and refinish floors as per schedule
clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up
clean windows and mirrors
clean personal items, pictures, decorations, flowers, etc.
demonstrate correct safety techniques
contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions
comply with privacy practices and protect residents' health information
perform other duties assigned by managerial team
