Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public
- Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment
- Perform regular inspections of resident rooms for sanitation, order and safety
- Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents respectfully
- Ability to accept new methods and principles in housekeeping practices
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding cleaning compounds and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively in emergency situations
Job Qualifications
- No experience necessary
- On-the-job training provided
- A minimum of one year experience in housekeeping in a nursing home or related medical facility preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions

Job Duties
- Ensure residents' rooms are neat, clean and free from odor
- Wet mops floors daily
- Shampoo and extract carpets as per schedule
- Buff floors
- Attend to spills immediately
- Empty trash liners and clean containers
- Clean bed and rails with disinfectant
