Job Requirements

  • Minimum two to three years of experience in restaurant operations
  • Expertise in food, beverage and guest service management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mac OSX and POS systems
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Physical capability to handle lifting up to 50lbs
  • Availability for flexible work hours including opening and closing shifts

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Maintain the highest standards of food and beverage quality, guest service, cost control and consistency
  • Focus on succession management, training and development of all Market employees
  • Delegate responsibility to the management team and enforce policies consistently
  • Oversee and participate in hiring, training, supervision, coaching, counseling and evaluation of market team members
  • Work closely with General Manager, Public Relations and Marketing to maximize recognition and covers
  • Protect and enhance market assets through maintenance, security, housekeeping and capital budgeting
  • Process weekly schedules and payroll for hourly staff
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and assist team members
  • Develop and implement operating standards, policies and procedures
  • Assign and instruct employees in their work, observe performance and encourage improvement
  • Operate with an open-door policy, listen and respond to team requests
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and enforce strict inventory controls
  • Make decisions based on experience and good judgment
  • Interact with all department personnel, market and vendor staff
  • Ensure staff dress and grooming standards
  • Develop cost saving and profit enhancement measures
  • Maintain professional relations with vendors
  • Create and execute action plans for areas needing improvement
  • Maximize restaurant profitability and monitor financial controls
  • Monitor labor costs and budget adherence
  • Monitor guest satisfaction including on social media
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation requirements
  • Participate in budget development
  • Participate in community and corporate social responsibility events
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Open and/or close Market as scheduled
  • Follow cash handling procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Assist management as needed
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction
  • Focus on day-to-day operations, guest engagement and staff supervision
