Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years management and supervisory experience
  • High school diploma preferred but not required as education and experience equivalent is considered
  • Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and a functioning automobile
  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English
  • Ability to interpret information in reports and hotel information
  • Mathematical skills to prepare forecasts and reports
  • Proficiency with front office and related department operations knowledge
  • Ability to communicate thoughts clearly
  • Flexibility to work long hours and as business conditions demand
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stressful situations
  • Effective judgment on front office operations and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of local market and salesmanship

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years management and supervisory experience
  • High school diploma preferred but not required

  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English
  • Ability to read and interpret reports and hotel information
  • Mathematical skills for forecasting, calculating revenue, average rate, occupancy and labor costs
  • Proficiency with front office management software
  • Knowledge of related department operations including service standards and guest relations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work long hours and manage multiple activities
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Salesmanship and knowledge of local competitive landscape

Job Duties

  • Operate properties in the absence of a General Manager as needed
  • Follow General Manager daily flow when acting as a General Manager
  • Develop expertise on computer operating system
  • Assist in recruitment of General Managers and other property staff
  • Train, develop and support property staff
  • Drive sales through sales calls and other local marketing at the direction of the Regional Operations Manager
  • Ensure and provide excellent guest service
  • Identify and manage repair and maintenance issues
  • Identify and follow up on life/safety and inspection issues
  • Notify Regional Operations Manager of any safety, security and/or policy violations immediately
  • Notify Regional Operations Manager of any guest concerns
  • Monitor competitors in markets as directed by the Regional Operations Manager
  • Help meet budgets through effective cost and inventory control
  • Help properties maximize financial performance
  • Travel and/or overnight stay as required
