Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in management and supervisory roles
  • high school diploma preferred but not required
  • valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and functioning automobile
  • ability to read, speak, write and understand English
  • mathematical skills for financial and operational calculations
  • proficiency in computer and front office management software
  • ability to work long hours regularly and as needed
  • ability to handle stressful situations and multiple tasks
  • physical ability to stand for 8-hour shifts, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and perform tasks requiring vision and manual dexterity
  • willingness to travel up to 90% of the time with overnight stays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in management and supervisory roles
  • high school diploma preferred but not required if equivalent education and experience is demonstrated
  • possess a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a functioning automobile
  • ability to read, speak, write and understand English
  • ability to read, understand and interpret reports and internal hotel information
  • sufficient mathematical skills to prepare forecasts, calculate revenues and costs, and balance cash banks
  • general computer proficiency and thorough knowledge of front office management
  • thorough knowledge of related department operations including service standards, guest relations, and up selling techniques
  • ability to compose and express thoughts clearly for effective communication
  • ability to manage multiple activities in stressful situations and organize work and others’ efforts
  • good judgment in front office operations and problem solving
  • salesmanship and knowledge of the local competitive landscape

Job Duties

  • Operate properties in the absence of a general manager as needed
  • follow general manager daily flow when acting as a general manager
  • develop expertise on computer operating system
  • assist in recruitment of general managers and other property staff
  • train, develop and support property staff
  • drive sales through sales calls and other local marketing as directed by the regional operations manager
  • ensure and provide excellent guest service
  • identify and manage repair and maintenance issues
  • identify and follow up on life/safety issues and inspection issues
  • notify regional operations manager immediately of any safety, security and/or violations of policy
  • notify regional operations manager of any guest concerns
  • monitor competitors in markets as directed by the regional operations manager
  • help meet budgets through effective cost and inventory control
  • help properties maximize financial performance
  • travel and/or overnight stay will be required
