Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • high school diploma preferred or equivalent experience
  • valid driver’s license
  • current auto insurance
  • functioning automobile
  • English proficiency
  • strong mathematical and reporting skills
  • computer proficiency
  • knowledge of hotel front office operations
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work long hours and under pressure
  • strong problem-solving capabilities
  • sales and marketing knowledge
  • flexibility to travel extensively
  • physical ability to perform job duties including standing, sitting, lifting, and working in various conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years management and supervisory experience
  • high school diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and functioning automobile
  • ability to read, speak, write and understand English
  • ability to read, understand and interpret hotel reports and internal information
  • sufficient mathematical skills to prepare forecasts and financial reports
  • general computer proficiency including Front Office/Front Desk management software
  • thorough knowledge of related department operations including service standards, guest relations, and upselling techniques
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • ability and flexibility to work long hours and manage multiple activities in stressful situations
  • effective judgment and problem-solving skills in front office operations
  • salesmanship and knowledge of local competitive landscape

Job Duties

  • Operate properties in the absence of a General Manager as needed
  • follow General Manager daily flow when acting as General Manager
  • develop expertise on computer operating system
  • assist in recruitment of General Managers and other property staff
  • train, develop and support property staff
  • drive sales through sales calls and local marketing at direction of Regional Operations Manager
  • ensure and provide excellent guest service
  • identify and manage repair and maintenance issues
  • identify and follow up on life/safety and inspection issues
  • notify Regional Operations Manager immediately of safety, security or policy violations
  • notify Regional Operations Manager of guest concerns
  • monitor competitors in markets as directed by Regional Operations Manager
  • help meet budgets through effective cost and inventory control
  • help properties maximize financial performance
  • travel and/or overnight stay as required
