Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years management and supervisory experience
- possess a valid driver’s license
- current auto insurance
- have a functioning automobile
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to interpret hotel operational reports
- sufficient mathematical skills
- computer proficiency including front office management systems
- knowledge of guest service standards and up selling
- ability to work long hours and handle multiple stressful situations
- ability to make sound judgments and resolve operational problems
- sales and marketing knowledge
- willingness to travel 90 percent of time
- ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- ability to stand for 8 hour shifts
- ability to work indoors and withstand varied weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in management and supervisory roles
- high school diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and functioning automobile
- ability to read, speak, write and understand English
- ability to read, understand, and interpret information from hotel reports
- sufficient mathematical skills for forecasting and reporting
- general computer proficiency with knowledge of Front Office management
- thorough knowledge of related department operations including service standards, guest relations, and up selling techniques
- ability to compose and express thoughts clearly
- flexibility to work long hours and manage multiple activities
- effective judgment in front office operations and problem-solving
- salesmanship and knowledge of local competitive landscape
Job Duties
- Operate properties in the absence of a General Manager as needed
- follow General Manager daily flow when acting as a General Manager
- develop expertise on computer operating system
- assist in recruitment of General Managers and other property staff
- train, develop and support property staff
- drive sales through sales calls and local marketing as directed by Regional Operations Manager
- ensure and provide excellent guest service
- identify and manage repair and maintenance issues
- identify and follow up on life/safety inspection issues
- notify Regional Operations Manager immediately of any safety, security or policy violations
- notify Regional Operations Manager of any guest concerns
- monitor competitors in markets as directed by Regional Operations Manager
- help meet budgets through effective cost and inventory control
- help properties maximize financial performance
- travel and/or overnight stay as required
