Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience
- a valid driver's license and willingness and ability to drive
- HS diploma
- supervisory experience in catering
- knowledge of food and event management trends
- proficiency with event management and Microsoft software
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to handle stressful situations professionally
- certifications or willingness to obtain
- physical ability to perform duties including lifting 20-30 pounds and standing for extended periods
- able to comply with university and health regulations
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience
- HS diploma with at least 5 years of front of house catering experience in high volume fine dining or hotel catering
- knowledge of current food and event management trends
- previous supervisory experience with ability to hold team members accountable
- proficiency in Momentus, TripleSeat, Social Tables and Microsoft Office applications
- ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- strong time management, organizational and multitasking skills
- ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
- professional, ethical and with integrity approach
- ServSafe, CPR/Chokesave, Allergen Awareness, TIPS and Crowd Manager certified or willing to obtain
Job Duties
- Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure high customer satisfaction
- meet weekly with catering office and production staff to discuss event logistics and timelines
- create unique and imaginative themes for various events
- manage all aspects of assigned events including site visits, ordering supplies, and coordination
- develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and on-site managers
- manage assigned staff including assigning duties, pre-meal meetings, addressing performance issues, and ensuring compliance with employment practices
- provide on-site support during events including setup, service coordination, and breakdown
- process vendor invoices and assist with client billing and report preparation
- utilize management systems to maintain and communicate event information
- ensure sanitation standards comply with all relevant regulations and policies
- respond to last-minute changes and unforeseen circumstances professionally
- perform other duties as assigned to ensure successful event operations
