Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of three months previous food service experience
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
  • Ability to count cash and make change
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to use a calculator, food thermometer, and computerized cash register
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to food service
  • Commitment to following safety and sanitation regulations

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of simple foods such as casseroles and convenience foods
  • Clean and prepare lettuce and other ingredients for salads
  • Make French fries, hot and cold sandwiches, coffee, cook eggs, omelets, and burgers
  • Slice meat and cut cakes or pies
  • Serve food on a serving line including sandwich bars, hot lines, and salad bar
  • Use a computerized cash register to add costs, collect money, and make change
  • Balance and reconcile cash to cash register tapes
  • Maintain cashier islands by restocking condiments and cleaning tables and chairs
  • Prepare assorted fresh dough pizzas according to franchise specifications
  • Receive stock and check deliveries against order forms and delivery documents
  • Rotate and date stock to ensure proper usage before expiration
  • Move items from storage areas to kitchens as directed
  • Take weekly inventory of products in storeroom, freezer, and cooler
  • Wash dishes, cooking utensils, and counter space while observing safety and sanitation standards
