Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- two years of relevant work experience with infants and toddlers preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- maintain valid driver’s license with good driving record and insurance
- ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
- ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands regularly
- work in a non-smoking area
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- preferred CDA Infant Toddler Endorsement
- preferred Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
- preferred previous Early Head Start experience
- knowledge of Health Department standards
- ability to provide care to children birth to 3 and pregnant women
- oral and written communication skills
- demonstrated organizational skills
- ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues
- ability to work as a team player
Job Duties
- Prep and serve home-style meals for children according to the menu and dietary allowances
- assist with kitchen operations and maintain cleanliness of kitchen area including washing dishes, cleaning counters, sweeping and mopping
- relieve teachers during break periods and serve as classroom substitute as needed
- maintain and update inventory of food, supplies, and equipment
- assist with reporting kitchen information and maintain records of attendance and meal counts
- comply with health department and Porter-Leath standards regarding food safety and cleanliness
- act as a role model to clients and staff and provide mentoring to families
- communicate programmatic issues to the Site Manager
- work cooperatively with staff to create a safe and enriching environment
- perform additional duties as assigned
