Job Duties

  • perform a variety of roles at the market including baking caring for plants working on the register stocking or helping out at pick-your-own
  • complete daily list of items to be baked
  • adhere to food safety standards
  • maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • water plants using the correct fertilizer as needed
  • keep outside plant area looking orderly and appealing
  • assist customers in answering plant-related questions
  • ensure plant items are barcoded and have correct price signs
  • keep plants healthy and attractive
  • complete required inventories
  • help restock produce on the floor and communicate with the farm if more produce is needed
  • ensure quality of any produce items sold at the market
  • organize produce coolers and receiving area
  • ring up customer purchases weigh produce run the cash register give correct change and accurately process credit card transactions
  • count the money in the register drawer precisely at the beginning and end of the shift and recap all sales transactions accurately
  • be up-to-date on product changes including price sizes and types
  • correctly identify fruits vegetables and plants when entering items into the system during a transaction
