Job Duties
- perform a variety of roles at the market including baking caring for plants working on the register stocking or helping out at pick-your-own
- complete daily list of items to be baked
- adhere to food safety standards
- maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- water plants using the correct fertilizer as needed
- keep outside plant area looking orderly and appealing
- assist customers in answering plant-related questions
- ensure plant items are barcoded and have correct price signs
- keep plants healthy and attractive
- complete required inventories
- help restock produce on the floor and communicate with the farm if more produce is needed
- ensure quality of any produce items sold at the market
- organize produce coolers and receiving area
- ring up customer purchases weigh produce run the cash register give correct change and accurately process credit card transactions
- count the money in the register drawer precisely at the beginning and end of the shift and recap all sales transactions accurately
- be up-to-date on product changes including price sizes and types
- correctly identify fruits vegetables and plants when entering items into the system during a transaction
