Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- two years of relevant work experience with infants and/or toddlers
- knowledge of health department standards regarding food preparation and cleanliness
- ability to provide care to children from birth to 3 1/2 years
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- ability to work as a team player
- ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
- maintain valid driver’s license with good driving record and insurance
- work in a non-smoking area
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- previous experience with infants and/or toddlers
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- knowledge of Health Department standards regarding food preparation, food storage, and cleanliness
- oral and written communication skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity
- demonstrated organizational skills
- ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- ability to work as part of a team and assist other employees
- CDA (Infant Toddler Endorsement) preferred
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- previous Early Head Start experience preferred
Job Duties
- Prep and serve meals according to menu and number of persons to be served
- assist with kitchen operations as needed
- maintain cleanliness of kitchen area, including washing dishes and cleaning counters
- relieve teachers during break periods and serve as a classroom substitute as needed
- maintain and update inventory of food, supplies and equipment
- assist with reporting kitchen information and maintaining records such as attendance and meal counts
- comply with all health department and Porter-Leath requirements regarding food preparation and cleanliness
