Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • registered nurse with associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent
  • at least three years full-time recent experience in emergency room or ICU
  • valid nursing license
  • current BLS and ACLS cards
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to report to Air Med station within 90 minutes drive time
  • body weight of 210 lbs or less in uniform
  • obtain PHTLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within 12 months
  • obtain CFRN or CTRN credentials within 18 months
  • maintain PRN hospital work status
  • possess company ID and instructor or provider cards
  • comply with FCC regulations
  • participate in disaster drills and meetings
  • promote company health and wellness initiatives

  • advanced credentials CFRN or CTRN within 18 months
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Conduct patient assessments and assist other medical personnel
  • administer basic, intermediate, or advanced life support care according to protocols
  • provide safe handling and transport of patients to and from air ambulance
  • transfer patient care information to receiving personnel
  • document patient condition and treatment accurately
  • use basic extrication tools when necessary
  • follow FCC regulations for electronic communication
  • complete station and grounds duties
  • file company reports and logs
  • temporarily assign to ground ambulance as needed
  • meet requirements of EMT-Basic, Intermediate, and Paramedic descriptions
  • conduct aircraft inventory and equipment testing
  • complete post-transport duties to ready equipment
  • possess full knowledge of equipment and proper use
  • report equipment repairs
  • participate in safety and quality meetings
  • communicate safety issues timely
  • promote company health and wellness programs
  • obtain required certifications PHTLS, PALS, NRP within 12 months
  • obtain advanced credentials CFRN/CTRN within 18 months
  • work PRN in hospital as required
  • maintain current credentials and cards on duty
  • maintain social, ethical, and organizational norms
  • meet strict deadlines
  • demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
