Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum three years recent experience in busy 911 system
  • registered EMT-P licensed in served state(s)
  • national certification as required
  • specialty certification (FP-C or CCP-C) within two years of hire
  • current healthcare provider BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent
  • completion of advanced trauma course (TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC or CAMTS-approved) prior to third rider orientation
  • NRP certification prior to third rider orientation
  • NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat upon hire
  • maintain weight under 225 pounds with flight suit and boots
  • ability to work 24-hour shifts and flexible schedule
  • dependable and self-motivated
  • excellent communication skills
  • proficient with Microsoft Suite

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least three years related experience or training
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
  • minimum three years recent experience in busy 911 system
  • previous critical care transport and flight experience preferred
  • skilled in paramedic advanced practice and critical care skills
  • positive interpersonal and communication skills
  • critical thinking and multitasking ability
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • registered EMT-P licensed in served states
  • national certification as needed
  • specialty certification (FP-C or CCP-C) within two years
  • current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent certifications
  • advanced trauma course completion
  • NRP certification
  • NIMS training (IS 100, 200, 700, 800, HazMat)

Job Duties

  • Provides pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact to patient handoff
  • maintains thorough patient care documentation
  • practices within scope of practice as defined by state and Air Methods CBS
  • maintains competency through ongoing education and clinical experiences
  • communicates educational needs to supervisors
  • maintains all required licensure, certifications, and training documentation
  • knowledgeable in use and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies
  • reports equipment failures and ensures repair process
  • assures adequate onboard supplies
  • keeps aircraft clean and prepared for rapid response
  • participates in patient and referring institution follow-up
  • functions as medical flight crew member attending briefings and completing documentation
  • assists in pre-mission checklist and supports pilot as needed
  • complies with safety standards for crew, patient, and equipment
  • conducts aircraft safety briefings
  • serves as a resource for neonatal/pediatric transport
  • performs advanced procedures as approved
  • acts as a role model and educator
  • participates in departmental activities and professional development
  • maintains awareness of pre-hospital care issues through professional involvement
  • performs other duties as assigned
