Job Requirements

  • maintain weight not to exceed 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
  • ability to work flexible schedule including 24/7 on-call rotation and overtime

  • proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED with at least three years related experience or equivalent combination
  • bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
  • minimum of three years recent experience in busy 911 system
  • previous critical care transport and flight experience preferred
  • registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
  • national certification if required for state licensure
  • specialty certification (FP-C or CCP-C) required within two years
  • current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS certifications or equivalent
  • advanced provider ITLS or PHTLS certification if required
  • advanced trauma course completion prior to third-rider orientation
  • NRP certification prior to third-rider orientation
  • NIMS training (IS 100, 200, 700, 800) and HazMat certification upon hire

Job Duties

  • provide high quality pre-hospital advanced life support including assessment, triage, and treatment utilizing established medical guidelines
  • maintain thorough patient care documentation
  • practice within scope of practice defined by state and Air Methods CBS
  • participate in ongoing competency training and educational programs
  • maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, and safety training
  • conduct routine equipment maintenance and report failures
  • keep aircraft clean and stocked with necessary supplies
  • participate in patient follow-up and outreach activities
  • attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings
  • assist pilot with radio, navigation, and visual observation as needed
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings when necessary
  • serve as a flight resource for neonatal and pediatric specialist transport
  • perform advanced procedures approved by Medical Director
  • act as role model, educator, and clinical resource
  • participate in departmental projects, research, and professional activities
  • maintain awareness of current pre-hospital care issues
  • comply with safety standards to ensure safety of self, patient, and equipment
  • perform additional duties as assigned
