Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least three years recent 911 transport or flight experience
  • registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
  • maintain weight under 225 pounds including flight attire
  • ability to work 24-hour shifts and flexible schedule
  • maintain specialty certification within two years
  • current advanced life support certifications
  • able to perform advanced paramedic skills
  • dependable and self-motivated
  • strong communication skills
  • participate in continuing education
  • compliance with safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least three years related experience or equivalent
  • bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred
  • minimum three years recent experience in a busy 911 system
  • previous critical care transport and flight experience preferred
  • registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
  • national certification may be required
  • specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C required within two years
  • current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, ITLS/PHTLS certifications
  • advanced trauma course certification required prior to orientation completion
  • NRP certification prior to orientation
  • completed NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat
  • skilled in advanced paramedic practice and interpersonal relations
  • proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Job Duties

  • Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient handover
  • maintain thorough patient care documentation
  • practice within defined scope and maintain competencies through ongoing training
  • maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, and training
  • utilize and maintain medical equipment and supplies
  • report equipment failures and ensure repairs
  • maintain aircraft cleanliness and readiness
  • participate in patient follow-up and outreach education
  • attend pre-mission briefings and assist pilots as needed
  • comply with safety standards for personnel and equipment
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings
  • serve as medical flight resource for specialty patients
  • perform advanced skills as approved by Medical Director
  • act as role model, educator, and clinical resource
  • participate in departmental projects and professional activities
  • maintain regular attendance
  • travel as required (5%)
