Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 36 months experience in busy 911 transport or flight setting within last five years
  • Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
  • Specialty certification (FP-C or CCP-C) within two years of hire
  • Current CPR, ACLS, PALS certification
  • Advanced trauma course completion before third-rider orientation
  • NRP certification before orientation
  • Weight not to exceed 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
  • Ability to work 24-hour shifts and flexible schedule
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Compliance with all licensure, certification, and training documentation requirements
  • Regular attendance
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years recent experience in a busy 911 system
  • Previous critical care transport or flight experience preferred
  • Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
  • National Certification if required
  • Specialty certification (FP-C or CCP-C) required within two years
  • Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent certifications
  • Advanced provider ITLS or PHTLS if required
  • Completion of advanced trauma course prior to orientation
  • NRP certification prior to orientation
  • NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat upon hire
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including overtime and on-call

Job Duties

  • Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact to acceptance by medical facility
  • Maintain thorough patient care documentation
  • Practice within scope as defined by state regulations and Air Methods CBS
  • Participate in ongoing skills competency and educational programs
  • Communicate educational needs to supervisors
  • Maintain licensure, certifications, and training documentation
  • Perform equipment maintenance and reporting
  • Ensure adequate patient care supplies on board
  • Keep aircraft clean and orderly
  • Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings
  • Assist pilot with radio, navigation, and visual observation as needed
  • Comply with safety standards to protect crew, patient, and equipment
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings when required
  • Serve as flight resource for neonatal/pediatric transport
  • Perform advanced approved medical procedures
  • Participate in departmental activities, research, and professional development
  • Stay updated on pre-hospital care and legislative issues
