Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 36 months experience in 911 transport or flight paramedic setting within last 5 years
- Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
- National certification may be required
- Specialty certification (FP-C or CCP-C) within two years of hire
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS or PHTLS as required
- Advanced trauma course certification
- NRP certification
- Maintain weight not to exceed 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts and flexible schedules
- Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Comply with Air Methods policies and employment practices
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three years related experience or training
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
- Minimum three years recent experience in busy 911 system
- Previous critical care transport and flight experience preferred
- Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s)
- National certification as required
- Specialty certification (FP-C or CCP-C) required within two years
- Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS certifications
- Advanced trauma course certification prior to third-rider orientation
- NRP certification prior to third-rider orientation
- NIMS Training IS 100,200,700,800 and HazMat upon hire
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible schedule including 24/7 on-call
- Dependable and self-motivated
Job Duties
- Provides pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to medical facility
- Maintains thorough patient care documentation
- Practices within scope of practice defined by states and Air Methods CBS
- Maintains competency through ongoing education and clinical experiences
- Communicates educational needs to supervisors
- Maintains documentation of licensure, certifications, training, and clinical rotations
- Knowledgeable in use and maintenance of all equipment and supplies
- Reports medical equipment failures and ensures repair
- Maintains adequate onboard supplies
- Keeps aircraft clean and orderly
- Participates in patient and institution follow-up and outreach
- Attends mission briefings and debriefings
- Assists in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot duties
- Complies with safety standards for self, personnel, patient, and equipment
- Conducts aircraft safety briefings as needed
- Serves as resource for neonatal/pediatric transports
- Performs advanced skills as approved by Medical Director
- Acts as role model, educator, and clinical resource
- Participates in departmental projects and committees
- Maintains awareness of pre-hospital care issues
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Subject to 5% travel time
