Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum three years recent experience in busy 911 system
  • registered EMT-P licensed in state served
  • specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C required within two years of hire
  • current certifications in BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS and ITLS or PHTLS
  • ability to maintain weight not exceeding 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
  • ability to work 24-hour shifts and flexible schedule including overtime and on-call rotation
  • excellent communication skills
  • proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • dependable and self-motivated
  • demonstrated critical thinking and multitasking skills

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or general education degree and at least three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred
  • minimum three years recent experience in busy 911 system
  • previous critical care transport and flight experience a plus
  • skills as required to practice as paramedic as defined by state and medical director
  • maintains positive interpersonal relationships and collaboration skills
  • demonstrates critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • registered EMT-P license in state served
  • national certification may be required
  • specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C required within two years of hire
  • current certifications in BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS or PHTLS
  • advance trauma course certification TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC or CAMTS-approved
  • NRP certification prior to third-rider orientation
  • NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat

Job Duties

  • provides pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to medical facility
  • maintains thorough patient care documentation
  • practices within defined scope of practice and maintains competency through ongoing training
  • maintains documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, and safety training
  • ensures proper use and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies onboard aircraft
  • participates in patient and referring institution follow-up and outreach activities
  • functions as medical flight crew by attending briefings, assisting pilot, completing mission documentation, and complying with safety standards
