Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 36 months of recent experience in busy 911 or flight setting
- Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
- National certification if required
- Specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C within two years
- Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS certifications
- Advanced trauma and NRP certifications
- Ability to maintain weight not exceeding 225 pounds including flight gear
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts and flexible schedules
- Strong communication, critical thinking and multitasking skills
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Ability to participate in continuous education and training
- Compliance with all safety standards and protocols
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three years of recent experience in a busy 911 system or flight setting
- Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred
- Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
- National certification if required for licensure
- Specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C within two years of hire
- Current certifications in BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalents
- Advanced trauma course certification such as TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC or CAMTS-approved course
- NRP certification prior to third-rider orientation
- NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat upon hire
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotation
Job Duties
- Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until care is transferred to the medical facility
- Maintain thorough patient care documentation
- Practice within scope of practice as defined by state and Air Methods CBS
- Participate in ongoing laboratory and clinical training programs
- Maintain documentation for licensure, certifications, continuing education, aviation and safety training
- Manage and report medical equipment maintenance and supplies
- Participate in patient follow-up and outreach activities
- Attend pre-mission briefings, assist pilots during flights, conduct safety briefings
- Serve as a medical flight resource for neonatal and pediatric patients
- Perform advanced skills and procedures as approved by Medical Director
- Act as a role model and clinical educator
- Stay current with pre-hospital care trends and participate in professional activities
- Comply with safety standards for self, team, patient, and equipment
