Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 36 months experience in busy 911 transport or flight setting within last 5 years
  • maintain weight not to exceed 225 pounds including gear
  • maintain required licensure and certifications
  • participate in ongoing education and training
  • comply with Air Methods employment policies
  • ability to work 24-hour shifts and 24/7 on-call rotations
  • dependable and self-motivated
  • excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • able to prioritize and multitask in fast-paced environments

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum three years of recent 911 system experience
  • registered EMT-P licensed in states served
  • national certification as required
  • specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C within two years
  • current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, ITLS or PHTLS certifications
  • advanced trauma course certification TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC or CAMTS-approved
  • NRP certification
  • NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work flexible schedules

Job Duties

  • Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient transfer
  • maintain thorough patient care documentation
  • practice within state and company scopes of practice
  • participate in ongoing education and competency training
  • maintain documentation of certifications and training
  • ensure equipment maintenance and report malfunctions
  • keep aircraft stocked and orderly
  • participate in patient follow-up and community outreach
  • attend mission briefings and debriefings
  • assist pilot with mission tasks
  • comply with safety standards
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings
  • serve as flight resource for neonatal/pediatric patients
  • perform advanced medical procedures as approved
  • act as role model and educator
  • engage in departmental projects and professional development
  • fulfill additional duties as assigned
