Job Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Must hold current National Registry and State Paramedic licenses
- Must maintain current BLS, ACLS, and CPR certifications
- Must complete PHTLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within 12 months of hire
- Must obtain advanced credential CCP-C or FP-C within 18 months if preferred
- Body weight not to exceed 210 pounds in uniform
- Must be able to report to assigned Air Med station within 90 minutes drive time
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must maintain all required identification cards on person when on duty
- Must have no recent disciplinary or safety infractions
- Must demonstrate strong knowledge of medical protocols and equipment
- Must be able to operate independently and under high-stress conditions
- Must maintain good personal motivation and organizational behavior
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- National Registry and appropriate State Paramedic license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CPR certification
- Completion of PHTLS, PALS, and NRP within 12 months of hire
- Advanced credential CCP-C or FP-C preferred within 18 months of hire
- Completion of Acadian Companies Critical Care Transport Course or equivalent preferred
- Minimum three years of paramedic experience
- Critical care transport experience preferred
- Knowledge of CORE protocols and critical care transport equipment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to operate extrication tools and manage patient environments
- Valid driver’s license
- Body weight of 210 pounds or less while in uniform
- Ability to report to assigned Air Med station within 90 minutes drive time
Job Duties
- Conducts patient assessments for signs and symptoms of illness or injury
- Administers prompt basic, intermediate, or advanced life support care within licensure limits and protocols
- Provides careful handling of patients to and from the air ambulance
- Ensures safe and efficient transport of patients to medical facilities
- Transfers patient care information to receiving personnel accurately
- Documents all aspects of patient care on electronic patient care reports
- Uses extrication tools and controls patient surroundings when necessary
- Communicates via electronic communications equipment following FCC regulations
- Completes station and grounds duties as assigned
- Submits required company reports and logs
- Performs regular equipment inventory and testing
- Places aircraft and equipment back in service after transport
- Reports needed equipment repairs to maintenance departments
- Participates in safety meetings and promotes safety standards
- Addresses safety issues with management and pilots
- Collaborates with quality improvement and leadership teams
- Promotes company health and wellness initiatives
- Participates in disaster drills and community outreach
- Assists with special projects as assigned
- May be temporarily assigned to ground ambulance duties if necessary
- Meets requirements of Emergency Medical Technician-Basic and Intermediate
