Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in a 911 or critical care setting
  • current EMT-P license or certification in states served
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certifications prior to flight status
  • must obtain FP-C certification within 24 months of hire
  • able to maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, and continuing education
  • capable of performing daily narcotic counts and base checks
  • able to participate in ongoing education and maintain competency
  • comply with all safety standards and protocols
  • willing to fill open or vacant shifts as necessary
  • ability to function effectively as part of a flight medical team

Job Qualifications

  • Current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • NRP certification
  • trauma certification prior to flight status
  • FP-C advanced certification preferred required within 24 months of hire
  • instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
  • NREMT-P certification may be required
  • minimum three years experience in 911 or critical care setting

Job Duties

  • Completion and submission of electronic patient care record for each flight within specified time frame
  • perform daily base checks including narcotic count
  • provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care maintaining thorough patient care documentation
  • maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
  • document licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
  • utilize and maintain emergency medical equipment and supplies
  • maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • function as a medical flight team member
  • attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete documentation
  • assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance including radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
  • comply with safety standards ensuring safety of self, crew, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
  • fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as instructed by Regional Director
