Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum 36 months experience in busy 911 transport or flight setting within last 5 years
- EMT-P license in state(s) served
- specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C within two years
- valid BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent certifications
- approved advanced trauma course
- NRP certification
- NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat
- ability to maintain weight less than 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
- ability to work 24-hour shifts and flexible schedule including overtime and on-call
- strong communication and computer skills
- maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- dependable and self-motivated
- regular attendance
- ability to travel approximately 5% of the time
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with at least three years related experience or equivalent education and experience
- bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
- minimum three years recent experience in busy 911 system
- previous critical care transport and flight experience preferred
- proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
- national certification if required by state licensure
- specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C within two years of hire
- current certifications in Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent
- advance trauma course certification such as TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC or CAMTS-approved course
- NRP certification prior to third-rider orientation
- NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat upon hire
- strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills
Job Duties
- Provides pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact to patient care transfer
- maintains thorough patient care documentation
- practices within defined scope of practice and maintains competency through ongoing training
- communicates educational needs and participates in continuing education
- manages medical equipment and supplies, reports failures, and ensures proper maintenance
- participates in patient and referring institution follow-up and community outreach
- functions as a medical flight team member by attending briefings and assisting pilots
- complies with all safety standards and conducts safety briefings as needed
- serves as a flight resource for neonatal and pediatric patients
- performs advanced skills and procedures approved by Medical Director
- serves as a role model, educator, and clinical resource
- participates in departmental activities, projects, and professional development
- attends minimum of six educational programs annually
- maintains all required documentation and certifications
- complies with attendance and travel requirements
- performs other duties as assigned
