Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum 36 months recent experience in a busy 911 transport or flight setting within last five years
- maintain weight not to exceed 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
- licensure as EMT-P in state(s) served
- ability to work flexible schedules including 24-hour shifts and on-call rotation
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- dependable and self-motivated
- comply with Air Methods policies and safety standards
- completion of all required certifications and training within designated timeframes
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum three years recent experience in a busy 911 system
- previous critical care transport and flight experience preferred
- bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
- licensed EMT-P in served state(s)
- national certification to meet licensure requirements
- specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C within two years of hire
- current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent certification
- advanced provider ITLS or PHTLS certification if required
- completion of advanced trauma course such as TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC, or CAMTS-approved course
- NRP certification before third-rider orientation
- NIMS IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat training upon hire
Job Duties
- Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact to patient handover
- maintain thorough patient care documentation
- practice within scope of state regulation and medical director guidelines
- maintain competency through ongoing education and clinical training
- communicate educational needs to supervisors
- maintain documentation of required licensure and certifications
- manage and report medical equipment functionality
- ensure adequate onboard supplies and aircraft cleanliness
- participate in patient and referring institution follow-up and outreach
- attend pre-mission briefings and complete mission documentation
- assist pilot with pre-mission checks and communications
- comply with all safety standards for self and crew
- conduct aircraft safety briefings
- serve as a flight resource for neonatal and pediatric patients
- perform advanced procedures approved by medical director
- serve as role model, educator, and clinical resource
- participate in departmental activities including research and committees
- maintain awareness of current pre-hospital care issues
- perform other duties as assigned
