Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in an ALS or critical care setting
  • Current EMT-P license or certification in states served
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications prior to flight status
  • Willingness to obtain trauma certification within six months of hire
  • Ability to work flexible schedules
  • Ability to lift or move up to 150 pounds with assistance
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distant, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Willingness to shave facial hair if needed to fit N95 mask
  • Possess gross and fine motor skills necessary for patient care activities

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years experience in an ALS or critical care setting
  • Flight experience preferred
  • Current EMT-P license or certification in states served
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required prior to flight status
  • Willingness to obtain trauma certification within six months of hire
  • Advanced FP-C certification preferred and required within twelve months of hire
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area

Job Duties

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within specified timeframes
  • Perform daily base checks including narcotic count
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until care is transferred to medical facility
  • Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
  • Keep documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, and safety procedures
  • Utilize and maintain equipment and supplies used in emergency programs
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • Function as a medical flight team member
  • Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation
  • Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance including radio and navigational activities
  • Comply with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patients, and equipment
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
