Job Requirements
- Minimum of three years experience in ALS or critical care
- Current EMT-P license or equivalent certification
- Required AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications prior to flight status
- Obtain trauma certification within six months of hire
- Willingness to shave facial hair if needed for N95 mask fit
- Ability to lift or move up to 150 pounds with assistance
- Possess necessary gross and fine motor skills for patient care
- Ability to work flexible work schedules
- Maintain required licensure and clinical competencies
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years experience in an ALS or critical care setting
- Flight experience preferred
- Current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required before flight status
- Trauma certification required within six months of hire
- FP-C advanced certification preferred and required within twelve months
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
- NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area
Job Duties
- Complete and submit electronic patient care records within specified time frames
- Perform daily base checks including narcotic counts
- Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care
- Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experience
- Document licensure, certifications, and continuing education accurately
- Use and maintain all emergency equipment and supplies
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public
- Function as a medical flight team member
- Participate in pre-mission briefings, liftoff checklists, and mission debriefings
- Assist pilots with radio, navigation, and visual observation activities
- Comply with safety standards for personnel, patients, and equipment
- Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
