Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in 911 or critical care setting
  • current EMT-P license or certification
  • valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certifications
  • ability to maintain certifications and licenses
  • availability for shift work including filling open or vacant shifts
  • strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure
  • compliance with safety protocols and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Current EMT-P license or certification in states served
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • NRP certification
  • trauma certification prior to flight status
  • Advanced Certification (FP-C) preferred and required within 24 months of hire
  • preferred instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area

Job Duties

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within specified timeframe
  • conduct daily base checks including narcotic count
  • provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care until patient is handed over to medical facility
  • maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
  • document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
  • perform routine maintenance and use of emergency equipment and supplies
  • foster positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • function effectively as a medical flight team member
  • attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings and complete necessary documentation
  • assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance as needed
  • comply with safety standards ensuring safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings as necessary
  • fill open or vacant shifts as directed by the Regional Director
