Job Requirements
- Minimum of three years experience in 911 or critical care setting
- current EMT-P license or certification
- valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certifications
- ability to maintain certifications and licenses
- availability for shift work including filling open or vacant shifts
- strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure
- compliance with safety protocols and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Current EMT-P license or certification in states served
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- NRP certification
- trauma certification prior to flight status
- Advanced Certification (FP-C) preferred and required within 24 months of hire
- preferred instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS
- NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area
Job Duties
- Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within specified timeframe
- conduct daily base checks including narcotic count
- provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care until patient is handed over to medical facility
- maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
- document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
- perform routine maintenance and use of emergency equipment and supplies
- foster positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- function effectively as a medical flight team member
- attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings and complete necessary documentation
- assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance as needed
- comply with safety standards ensuring safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment
- conduct aircraft safety briefings as necessary
- fill open or vacant shifts as directed by the Regional Director
