Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in a 911 or critical care setting
  • current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and trauma certifications prior to flight status
  • advanced certification FP-C required within 24 months of hire
  • instructor certifications preferred
  • NREMT-P certification may be required
  • ability to complete electronic patient care documentation accurately and timely
  • ability to perform daily base checks including narcotic count
  • maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education and advanced procedures
  • knowledge of emergency medical equipment and supplies
  • compliance with safety standards
  • willingness to fill open or vacant shifts as assigned
  • ability to participate in ongoing clinical and laboratory skill maintenance
  • commitment to positive professional relationships with EMS, hospitals, colleagues and the public

Job Qualifications

  • Current EMT-P license or certification in the states served by the assigned area

  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to maintain competency through ongoing education and training

Job Duties

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame
  • conduct daily base checks including narcotic counts
  • provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is transferred to the accepting medical facility maintaining thorough documentation
  • participate in ongoing laboratory and clinical skill maintenance
  • maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
  • utilize and maintain all emergency program equipment and supplies
  • foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • function as a medical flight team member
  • attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings completing necessary documentation
  • assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot assistance including radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
  • comply with safety standards to ensure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
  • fill open or vacant shifts as needed within the assigned area as directed by the Regional Director
