Job Requirements

  • Must be willing to shave facial hair if needed to fit a N95 mask
  • Ability to perform gross and fine motor skills necessary to deliver safe, effective patient care
  • Ability to lift and move up to 150 pounds cumulatively with assistance
  • Specific visual abilities including close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule
  • Current EMT-P license or certification in assigned states
  • Must obtain trauma certification within six months
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education and maintain all required certifications

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years experience in advanced life support or critical care settings
  • Flight experience preferred
  • Current EMT-P license or certification in states served by the assigned area
  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required prior to flight status
  • Trauma certification required within six months of hire
  • Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) preferred and required within 12 months of hire
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
  • NREMT-P certification may be required depending on assigned area

Job Duties

  • Completion and submission of electronic patient care records within specified time frames including daily base checks and narcotic counts
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to receiving medical facility maintaining thorough documentation
  • Maintain competency in clinical knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical training
  • Maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
  • Operate and maintain all emergency equipment and supplies in accordance with protocols
  • Foster positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospital staff, and the public
  • Participate as an active member of the medical flight team including attending pre-mission briefings and debriefings
  • Assist with pre-mission liftoff checklists and provide support to pilots as needed including radio, navigational, and visual observation tasks
  • Comply with all safety standards to ensure safety of crew, patient, and equipment before liftoff
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as necessary
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
