Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum three years experience in 911 or critical care setting
  • current EMT-P license or certification for the assigned area
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certifications required
  • ability to obtain FP-C certification within 24 months of hire
  • physical ability to perform duties in air medical setting
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • compliance with all safety and operational procedures
  • valid driver’s license
  • willingness to fill vacant shifts as directed

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years experience in 911 or critical care settings
  • current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certifications prior to flight status
  • advanced certification FP-C preferred and required within 24 months of hire
  • instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
  • NREMT-P certification may be required depending on location

Job Duties

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records within specified time frames
  • perform daily base checks including narcotic counts
  • provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care maintaining thorough documentation
  • maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical training
  • document licensure, certifications, continuing education, and advanced procedures
  • perform routine maintenance of all emergency equipment and supplies
  • maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • function as an active medical flight team member
  • attend pre-mission briefings and post-mission debriefings completing necessary documentation
  • assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot support including radio, navigation, and visual observations
  • comply with safety standards ensuring safety of self, crew, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings
  • fill open or vacant shifts as needed and assigned
