Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current paramedic certification
- Valid state licensure to practice paramedic services
- Meet state and HCA Houston Healthcare AirLife regulatory requirements
- Ability to maintain physical and mental stamina for flight and emergency scenarios
- Completion of required training and continuing education
- Compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and aviation safety standards
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work full-time hours and variable shifts as needed
Job Qualifications
- Advanced cardiac life support
- Basic cardiac life support
- Neonatal resuscitation
- PALS pediatric advanced life support
- Paramedic certification
- Obtain FP-C flight paramedic certification within 2 years of employment
- Advanced trauma care or trauma-related certifications
- Advanced provider course in ITLS or prehospital trauma life support
Job Duties
- Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial patient contact until care is transferred to receiving medical facility
- Maintain thorough patient care documentation
- Practice within defined scope and maintain competency through ongoing training
- Maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, and continuing education
- Manage routine maintenance and reporting of medical equipment and supplies
- Participate in patient follow-ups, outreach, and education activities
- Attend mission briefings and debriefings, assist pilots as needed, and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Serve as a clinical resource and educator
- Perform advanced skills and procedures approved by medical director
- Other duties as assigned
