Job Requirements
- Minimum of three years experience in a 911 or critical care setting
- Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area
- CPR certification including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification prior to flight status
- Ability to maintain required licensure, certifications, and continuing education
- Ability to work full-time
- Must comply with safety and operational protocols
- Willingness to fill open or vacant shifts as needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years experience in a 911 or critical care setting
- Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status
- Advanced certification (FP-C) preferred, required within 24 months from date of hire
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
- NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area
Job Duties
- Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within specified time frame
- Conduct daily base checks including narcotic counts
- Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care maintaining thorough patient care documentation
- Participate in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences to maintain knowledge and psychomotor skills
- Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
- Use and perform routine maintenance of all emergency program equipment and supplies
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- Function as a medical flight crew member
- Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation
- Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance such as radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
- Comply with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
- Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
- Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director
