Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years related experience and/or training
  • Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
  • Specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C required within two years of hire
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS or PHTLS certifications
  • Advanced trauma course certification prior to third rider orientation
  • NRP certification prior to third rider orientation
  • Completion of annual EMTALA and NIMS training including IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat upon hire

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years recent experience in a busy 911 system
  • Registered EMT-Paramedic licensed in state(s) served
  • Specialty certification FP-C or CCP-C required within two years of hire
  • Current certifications in Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS or PHTLS
  • Advanced trauma course certification such as TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC, or CAMTS-approved course prior to third rider orientation
  • NRP certification prior to third rider orientation
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
  • Previous critical care transport and flight experience preferred
  • Experience complying with EMTALA and NIMS training

Job Duties

  • Provides pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is handed over to accepting facility
  • Maintains thorough patient care documentation
  • Practices within scope of practice as defined by state regulations and organizational guidelines
  • Maintains competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
  • Communicates educational needs to Chief Flight Nurse
  • Maintains records of licensure, certifications, continuing education, and training
  • Attends continuing education programs
  • Performs routine maintenance and reports failures of medical equipment
  • Keeps aircraft supplied and orderly for rapid response
  • Participates in patient and referring institution follow-up and outreach activities
