Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years paramedic experience
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification
  • Colorado EMT-P certification at hire
  • Flight Paramedic Certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic Life Support healthcare provider certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation certification
  • One trauma life support certification among TPATC, PHTLS, or ITLS
  • BLS or CPR card valid through sixty days of hire
  • Other state licenses as required for service area within six months of hire

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification
  • Colorado EMT-P certification at hire
  • Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification
  • Five years paramedic experience
  • Preferred experience in high call volume 911 ambulance service
  • Preferred field training officer experience
  • Preferred Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred flight or critical care transport experience
  • Preferred CEVO/EVOC training
  • Preferred instructor certifications for BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TPATC, PHTLS, or ITLS

Job Duties

  • Provide patient care during all phases of transport from initial contact until care is transferred
  • Document patient assessment, evaluation, interventions, and response to therapy within established timeframes
  • Participate in pre- and post-transport briefings
  • Provide patient follow-up to referral agencies
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and complete vehicle and equipment checklists
  • Collaborate across disciplines to improve patient outcomes
  • Provide safety and clinical education to referring facilities and EMS agencies
