Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- minimum three years recent critical care or emergency nursing experience within last five years
- current RN license for states of practice
- EMS or MICN certification or licensure as required
- current certifications in BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent
- maintain weight not to exceed 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
- ability to work flexible schedule including overtime and on-call rotation
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- able to maintain competency through ongoing education
- meet specialty certification requirements within 24 months of hire
- complete NRP and NIMS training before orientation
- dependable and self-motivated
- able to work in fast-paced and changing environments
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred
- minimum three years recent critical care or emergency nursing experience within last five years
- pre-hospital experience preferred
- flight experience a plus
- maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and external personnel
- demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning skills
- ability to prioritize and multi-task
- strong communication and presentation skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- current RN license for states of practice
- EMS or MICN certification or licensure as required
- certifications in BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, and advanced trauma provider courses
- specialty certification CFRN or CEN required within 24 months
- NRP certification and NIMS training required before completing orientation
Job Duties
- Provide nursing care within scope of practice from initial patient contact to hand-off at medical facility
- maintain thorough patient care documentation
- participate in ongoing laboratory and clinical training to maintain competency
- communicate educational needs to supervisors
- maintain required licensure, certifications, and training
- use and maintain medical equipment and supplies onboard aircraft
- report equipment failures and ensure timely repairs
- keep aircraft clean and prepared for rapid response
- attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings
- assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot support activities such as radio and navigation
- conduct aircraft safety briefings
- serve as flight resource for neonatal and pediatric patient transport
- perform approved advanced skills and procedures
- participate in patient and institution follow-up
- engage in outreach marketing and education
- act as preceptor for new employees and students
- attend Air Methods meetings, projects, and committees
- perform other duties as assigned
