Job Requirements
- Maintain weight not to exceed 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
- Demonstrate skills per state scope of practice and Medical Director standards
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and EMS
- Exhibit critical thinking and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible schedule including overtime and 24/7 on-call
- Dependable and self-motivated in dynamic work settings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Regular attendance and adherence to policies
- Willingness to travel up to 5% time
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field preferred
- Minimum three years recent critical care or emergency nursing experience within last five years
- Pre-hospital experience preferred
- Flight experience is a plus
- Current RN license(s) for state(s) of practice
- EMS or MICN certification/licensure as required
- Current certifications in BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent
- Advanced trauma provider certification like TPATC, TNCC, or PHTLS
- Specialty certification (CFRN or CEN) required within 24 months of hire
- NRP certification prior to third-rider orientation
- NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800, HazMat prior to third-rider training
Job Duties
- Provide nursing care within scope of practice from initial contact until patient handoff
- Maintain thorough patient care documentation
- Participate in ongoing education to maintain competency
- Use and maintain medical equipment and supplies
- Attend pre-mission briefings and assist pilot as needed
- Conduct aircraft safety briefings and comply with safety standards
- Serve as a flight resource for neonatal and pediatric patients
- Participate in patient follow-up and outreach activities
- Act as preceptor or participate in onboarding new staff
- Engage in Air Methods CBS meetings and projects
