Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- minimum of three years recent critical care or emergency nursing experience
- current RN license(s)
- EMS or MICN certification as per state regulations
- current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS certifications
- ability to maintain weight under 225 pounds including flight suit and boots
- ability to work flexible schedule including overtime and on-call
- proficient computer skills
- strong communication and critical thinking
- willingness to complete specialty certifications within 24 months
- must meet all training and certification mandates
- regular attendance
- ability to travel up to 5 percent
- comply with all Air Methods employment policies
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- current RN license for states of practice
- EMS or MICN certification as required
- current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, and advanced trauma certifications
- skills to practice nursing within state scope
- knowledge of advanced practice skills
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- critical thinking and multitasking ability
- proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- ability to work flexible schedules including 24/7 on-call
- dependable and self-motivated
- specialty certifications CFRN or CEN within 24 months
- NRP certification
- NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800, HazMat
Job Duties
- Provide nursing care within scope of practice from initial patient contact until care is transferred
- maintain thorough patient care documentation
- participate in ongoing clinical and laboratory skills training
- communicate educational needs to supervisors
- maintain licensure, certifications, and training documentation
- use and maintain medical equipment and supplies
- report equipment failures and ensure repair
- keep aircraft clean and supplied
- attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings
- assist with pre-mission checklists and pilot support
- comply with safety standards for self, personnel, patients, and equipment
- conduct aircraft safety briefings
- serve as a flight resource for neonatal/pediatric transports
- perform advanced skills as approved
- participate in patient follow-up and outreach activities
- act as preceptor for new employees and students
- participate in meetings, projects, and committees
- perform other duties as assigned
