Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in emergency or critical care nursing
  • Current RN licensure in states served
  • EMT certification where required
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications before flight status
  • Ability to obtain trauma certification within six months of hire
  • Ability to obtain advanced certifications within 12 months
  • Must be willing to shave facial hair if needed to fit an N95 mask
  • Must possess gross and fine motor skills for patient care activities
  • Ability to lift or move up to 150 pounds with assistance
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distant, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years experience in an emergency or critical care setting
  • Flight nursing experience preferred
  • Current RN licensure in the states served by the assigned area
  • EMT certification in required states
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications prior to flight status
  • Willingness to obtain trauma certification within six months
  • Advanced certifications (CEN, CCRN, CFRN) preferred and required within 12 months
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred

Job Duties

  • Assess each situation to determine the best course of action to support, monitor and treat patients in critical care situations
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to manage the critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patient and support physicians' orders
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked aircraft environment
  • perform regular equipment and base checks
  • comply with safety standards and briefings
  • Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with air and ground teams, dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners
  • Share shift change information with the transitioning team and maintain accurate company and regulatory documentation and records
  • Maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing training
